ATA carnet and its advantages

You will export the goods abroad or you will propagate your products. If you as an enterpreneur are working abroad, you have to export your tools abroad, temporary, and then back home. Do you want to know how at the reexportation not to pay duty, VAT or any other charges , and abroad where you are working you do not need make guarantee at the importation or transit customs due.

This problem can be solved by using of ATA carnet.

ATA carnet is an international customs document, that enables duty-free temporary import and transit of goods abroad for up to one year.

ATA carnet covers;

ATA carnet do not cover perishable or consumble items or goods for processing or repair.ATA carnet can be used for goods that are transmitted into regime of temporary import and will be reexported back in tha same state as it was exported.

ATA carnet makes enable to use its advantages in the member- countries of ATA carnet convention. If the transit doesn’ t take through the member- countries / ATA convention/ it is necessary to make customs daclaration.

The advantages of ATA carnet.

1. The reducing of expenses

The answering for a customs debt in the country of temporary import is replaced with guarantee of SCCI.

You needn’ t pay the charges for the participation in customs proceeding in the individual country of temporary import or transit.

2. Simplificates the customs declaration.

It is not necessary to do customs declaration.

CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN

What does mean the certificate of origin.

It is an international commercial document certifying “the origin of goods”. It means that the goods were exhausted {raw materials} grown up { vegetable origin} bred {animal origin} or produced in the country of exportation.

Its use.

As a document for tariff negotiation at the delivery of goods in the country of destination and /or as the document for the bill of credit payments,for the imported goods and the licence process. For example, on the basis of this document the import customs can quote the height of customs tariff – negotiated, general or preferential.

Who issues this documents.

The Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a public – legal institution is accredited to accomplish this activity.The activities for the entrepreneur’ s public are provided by the Regional office in Zilina and office in Ruzomberok.

On the basis of what rules

According to Gatt 94 – the certificate / chamber certificate/ - non –preferential origin of goods – for declaration of negotiated tariff rate.

Criterions concerning the exported goods.

a/ The goods were full exhausted or produced in the country of origin.

b/On the production of the goods took a share /participated/ two or more countries.In the area of country of origin came into force the last overworking, what has causted

a new product or an important production degree.

c/The goods have origin in other country , not in Slovakia and the applicant has to submit this fact with providing of necessary documents- as foreign certificates of origin , or invoice,letter of cargo etc.

The validity of certificate of origin

This document - certificate of origin is valid one year.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry certifies other commercial documents.
